I noticed I ramble a lot, but mostly in my head, jumping from thought to thought – a rant. Other times, I mull over a thought for endless hours, not letting it go until I reach understanding of the situation – a realisation.
Have you ever observed at how a young child looks at the world? Everything from their facial expression to their body’s stance will display their total amazement at the realisation that a cup pushed in a specific manner will circle around them on the floor. And the moment after, they will rant quite loudly, flailing their arms, frowning ever so fiercely, that their food is not yet ready although they informed us of their hunger 0.137 seconds ago.
Outwardly expressing our inner being brings about a kind of satisfaction that is quite unmatched. As adults, outward expression in the form of arms flailing accompanied by a screeching noise is frowned upon, and one enacted by mere non-verbal physical expression can be perplexing. A better alternative is in the form of writing, and thus blog entries seem to be a fitting medium.
At times, we find ourselves unable to tame the tornado of thoughts twirling above our head into docile, cohesive, rational, succinct set of ideas, that help us travel from the point of initial impressions to final convictions. We’re left with uneasiness, almost similar to when that place that’s hard to reach in our backs is itching us. In such times, reaching for someone else’s help is more beneficial than contortioning ourselves. And so, reading the unfolding of others’ train of thoughts on a topic we’re contemplating often does the same; it helps us appease the itch.
In this blog, you’ll read about Rants or Realisations of various every day topics. At times, both elements will be intertwined in a single post – Mangled R&R, as one leads to the other, or one wouldn’t have come about without the other. Other times, you’ll get an inside access to a thought I’m still wrestling with, one that is on its way to a realisation but hasn’t quite made it there yet – an SPA (aka Something to Ponder About).
As I do more than just scratch the surface of various topics, I hope to help you appease the itch.
